Many people hear it
mentioned almost every day, but few understand how Ethanol is really produced or
how it affects our economy. A tour on Tuesday at
Midwest Renewable Energy in Sutherland helped residents understand Ethanol
plants.
How much water do Ethanol plants consume? What are enzymes and how are they
used? These are just a few of the many questions answered today at the Midwest
Renewable Energy Plant in Sutherland.
North Platte residents got a chance to see an Ethanol Plant first hand, in a
tour that helped better explain the Ethanol Production Process.
The intent was to clear up one misconception that people have about Ethanol
Production – that it does not ruin our environment, but utilizes our natural
resources.
Those who attended the ethanol tour also went to the Olson Feedlot for a tour of
the operations and information about the use of by-products.
