KL Process Design Group is contracted to provide
engineering design, detailed engineering, procurement, construction services and
plant management for this brownfield project located in Buffalo, NY. This 110
MGY ethanol plant is a refit of an existing malting facility on Lake Erie.
The existing facility includes eighteen acres of industrial land, including over
ten million bushels of grain storage; three miles of rail lines tied in to CSX;
3,000 feet of docks for lake freighters; existing laboratories; office space;
large warehousing capacity; a 100,000 square foot process building; and all the
required utilities in place. Other infrastructure includes utilities, sewer and
water treatment, abundant fresh water for processing ethanol, secure private
roadways, and easy access to highways, rail and waterways.
